We invite you to observe the display cases distributed along the gallery, which you will find between the entrances to the different rooms.
Ramon de Mercader i Novell, father of Joaquim de Mercader, had created a small natural history collection notable enough to appear in Barcelona guides from the first half of the 19th century. He also had a collection of weapons, coins, and other objects.
From a very young age, Joaquim de Mercader began to expand the collection, which he installed in his new palace on Passeig de Gràcia from 1872, where he advertised it as the "Museum of Antiquities of the Count of Belloch".
Currently, inside the display cases you can observe part of the collection of ceramics, glass, iron, religious objects, clothing and weapons.
