Arab Room
Audio transcription
This room is called the Arab Room because of the wall decoration, which imitates the Arab palaces of the Alhambra in Granada. This type of decoration was very fashionable in the 19th century.
The walls are covered with carved and painted plaster in bright colors. The decorative motifs are geometric and vegetal, and include inscriptions in Arabic. On the ceiling there is a wooden dome with muqarnas decoration.
The furniture in the room is Isabelline style, with chairs and armchairs upholstered in red fabric. The center table is mahogany wood.
On the back wall there is a marble fireplace with a large mirror above it.
